Group D - England v Sweden

Pre-match Prediction : A huge game for England tonight when they go head to head with Sweden.

England managed to hang on for a draw on Monday against France to start their campaign in a respectable fashion.

They were outplayed at times & created very little but that typical, gritty, English style defence saw them earn a point.

As I see it sitting back & attacking teams on the counter-attack looks like a good plan for England. Without Rooney, England lack creativity but they have a lot of pacey forwards.

Technically, England aren't great. They are better at making games physical but most European teams should be able to enjoy the majority of possession against them.

I'm not particularly impressed by the team England have selected tonight. It looks like a straight 4-4-2 & I don't think 4-4-2 works at this level. I'd have gone with Welbeck in the middle of Oxlade-Chamberlain and Young with Milner, Gerrard & Parker in the middle.

Sweden looked very poor against Ukraine. They got the first goal but defensively they looked very poor.

Sweden will rely heavilly on getting a good performance from Zlatan Ibrahimovic. On his day he can be unplayable but he traditionally struggles against English opposition.

I think this will be a tight game & it is one that England can win but I think they have got the team wrong.

England 1-1 Sweden
