Group C - Italy v Croatia

Post-match Prediction : Group C should begin to take shape today with the latest round of fixtures and today's 5pm game is Italy v Croatia.

Italy come into this one after a very good result against defending European and World Champions, Spain. Italy took the lead in that game but were unable to hold onto it and in the end had to settle for a point. The Italians played 3 at the back with De Rossi playing in the Libero role. It was an interesting idea and one that worked out quite well.

As usual the Spanish had a lot of possession but they never really hurt the Italians and Italy were fairly comfortable until Spain made a few changes near the end.

The front two of Cassano and Ballotelli both looked lively and Cassano was impressive but I was also quite impressed with Balotelli's hold up play which is a side to his game we don't often see.

The Croatians got off to a dream start with a comfortable win over Ireland. It's hard to judge how good they actually were though as pretty much anything that could go wrong, did go wrong for the Irish.

Modric unsurprisingly looks like a key player for them and Jelavic and Mandzukic look like a handful in attack. Ireland never really tested their back line but they will surely face a sterner test this evening.

This game is very tough to call but I think the Italians have a little more class & enough in the physical side too to deal with the Croats.

Italy 2-1 Croatia
